Lebarron N. Mcwhorter is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Bands at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama.

Mcwhorter earned the Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting from Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia, a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama and is currently pursuing a Certificate in Advance Graduate Studies in Instrumental Conducting at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Before his current appointment, he served as Director of Bands at Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia and Director of Bands at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Alabama.

Through facilitating student- focused learning and a consistent emphasis on fundamentals and leadership, Mcwhorter assisted his students in earning consistent superior and excellent ratings in both the concert and marching bands. Some of these achievements include performing in Disney Magic Music Days in Orlando, Florida and the Kennesaw State University Concert Band Invitational in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Mcwhorter proudly served as a medical laboratory specialist and a euphonium player in the United State Army from 2002 to 2008. His previous assignments include the 161st Medical Battalion in Mobile, Alabama and the 151st Army Band in Montgomery, Alabama.
